Spot Prawns?Alive and Kicking
Tommy Pearson is one of 30 fishermen in California that are licensed to catch spot prawns. Everything he brings home from the sea will end up in the live tanks at Pearson’s Port-a one-room shanty at the end of a short pier in Newport Harbor. His wife, Terese, runs the shop and says they only catch what they can sell in three days. Video by John Vande Wege / Los Angeles Times.
