Carjacker Caught On Surveillance Video
A man who carjacked a woman’s vehicle was captured on surveillance cameras at a CVS pharmacy on Monday in St Petersburg, FL, police said.  The video shows the suspect purchasing two cans of SOBE energy drink at the check out counter. He then went outside where another camera showed him loitering. He then followed the victim, 52-year-old Amporn Putagool, to her car and asked for for direction More..s. The actual assault was out of camera range. Putagool tried to give him directions and then got into her car. At that point, the suspect jumped in the back of Putagool's green Ford Escort, put his arm around her neck and told her to start driving. She screamed and tried to break free, but couldn't. A man who had just pulled into the parking lot, 63-year-old John Porter, saw the commotion and yelled at the suspect to stop. He managed to help Putagool get out of the car. The suspect showed a knife and gestured with it at Porter, indicating he would stab Porter if he didn't stay away. The suspect then crawled into the front seat and drove off. The car was found abandoned a short time later behind the Florida Veterinary Clinic at 8500 4th Street North. Putagool suffered some bruising and a sore shoulder, but was otherwise uninjured. The suspect is described as a white male, mid twenties, 6'0", short cut light brown hair, tattoos on both arms, white tank top and dark knee-length shorts.
