Sacagawea Joins the Expedition
While wintering with the Mandan and Hidatsa, Lewis and Clark met a young woman, the wife of the fur trader Charbonneau. Though they didn’t realize it at the time, their decision to ask Charbonneau to join them would prove fortuitous indeed. Fortuitous because Sacagawea would join the journey as well. As part of Women's History Month, we focus on this extraordinary woman who contributed so much to the success of the expedition. Join guests, Amy Mossett and Kalyn Free, as we explore the life and legacy of Sacagawea (Bird Woman). From the Series:Lewis and Clark Then and Now
