Reading Obama: Dreams, Hope, and the American Political Tradition
James Kloppenberg, chair of the history department at Harvard University, explores the philosophical, political, and historical studies of President Barack Obama. Mr. Kloppenberg examines how President Obama’s education has influenced his political career from his readings of Friedrich Neitzche and John Rawls to his thoughts on the Constitution, Civil War, and the New Deal. He was in conversation with Professor Marini and responded to questions from members of the audience. This was part of the series "Dangers and Denial: Cautionary Tales for Our Times" at the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston.
