From Coast To Coast, Videogame Fans Celebrate The Launch Of Play
November 2006 (Medialink) - People all across the globe counted down the days, hours and minutes to the much anticipated debut of PlayStation 3. At midnight on November 17th, the first systems available in North America were sold, ushering in the next generation in gaming and home entertainment.  Hundreds of fans lined up at stores across the country. In New York, fans were entertained by comedian Charlie Murphy and rapper/actor Ludacris. In San Francisco, fans were treated to live music and an appearance by Olympic Gold Medalist, Shaun White. But, the big drama came as streets were shut down and fans witnessed the actual arrival of the much-anticipated delivery of the PlayStation 3 systems. PS3 officially hit stores on November 17. This revolutionary computer entertainment system will serve as a platform for consumers to enjoy next generation entertainment in the home for years to come.
