Good Morning. It’s Monday, July 11, 2011. At this hour, U.S. equity futures are down. Overseas, the Asian markets retreated, while the European markets are lower. Valeant Pharmaceuticals (NYSE:VRX) and its subsidiary, Valeant International, signed an agreement to acquire Dermik, a dermatology unit of Sanofi (NYSE:SNY) in the U.S. and Canada. Valeant will pay Sanofi about $425M for all Dermik assets. Precision Cast (NYSE:PCP) acquired Primus International for $900M in cash. Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU) and ArcelorMittal (NYSE:MT) submitted a proposal to acquire Macarthur Coal (ASX:MCC). GlaxoSmithKline's (NYSE:GSK) BOOSTRIX received FDA approval for whooping cough in adults 65 and older. VCA Antech (NASDAQ:WOOF) will acquire BrightHeart for about $50M in cash.
