変わった果物が話題に 高校生が開発した四角いメロンに117kgのジャンボスイカ
熊本市で開かれた恒例のジャンボスイカコンテストで、重さ117kgのスイカが優勝しました。87歳のスイカ名人が育てたということです。一方、愛知県立渥美農業高校の高校生が2002年に開発したメロンが話題になっています。その名も「カクメロ」。代々、栽培方法が研究され、2011年は、初めて海外に出荷するほど人気を集めているということです。
