One bright sunny morning regular husband and father, Tom Evans, ups and leaves his seemingly happy family life in the Midlands to live on the slightly less comfortable streets of London. Tom appears to be seeking some kind of solace but early on a violent encounter in a park and a run in with a tree forces Tom to seek medical care. In A&E, Tom meets the harmless, child-like Aidan, the happiest, fast-talking individual you are ever likely to meet, the antithesis of Tom. Like some stray dog Aidan follows his new 'friend', and Tom is too polite or too weak to ask him to leave him alone. His attempts to ditch him fail miserably. Events drag Tom into Aidan’s world, where he quickly realises that Aidan has problems too. Aidan's violent and manipulative 'girlfriend' Linda is clearly trouble from the word go. Having run away from his own family, Tom finds himself paying the price, as he unwittingly becomes part of an unlikely and dangerous new 'family'. Will Tom overcome his own problems in order to help his new "friend", will he ever make it back home and why exactly did he leave home in the first place?
