2010FIFAワールドカップ南アフリカ大会に出場する日本代表チームが、日本時間6日午後10時前に現地入りした。スイスで直前合宿を行っていた代表チームは、日本時間の午後10時前、期間中ベースキャンプを構える南アフリカのジョージに到着した。空港の外に待ち構えていた地元のファンが大きな歓声を上げると、長時間の移動に疲れた様子だった選手たちは、笑顔で手を振って応えていた。代表チームは、ジョージで最後の調整を行ったあと、14日に初戦のカメルーン戦に臨む。また、同じ日、日本が第2戦で対戦するオランダ代表もヨハネスブルクに到着した。サッカーワールドカップは、11日に開幕する。
