Twelve Million Affected by Pakistan Floods; Moscow Chokes on Smoke
(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: August 6, 2010) Pakistan’s government has said that 12 million people are impacted by ongoing floods throughout the country. At least 1600 people are presumed dead, but the number is likely to rise due to the difficulty reaching certain affected areas. Pakistan's President Zardari is being criticized for being out of the country for talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron during the crisis. Flights in Russia have been grounded and Moscow residents are warned to stay indoors because of a thick smoke caused by wildfires that began over a week ago.
