Obama’s stimulus bill to pave Maryland’s roads
Bumps, potholes, and cracks the size of canyons pepper the streets of Baltimore. But that might soon be history, thanks to the chunk of change the state of Maryland is getting through Obama’s stimulus bill. The national plan offers $787 billion in federal money to help state governments weather an economy that has been in recession for more than a year. This project to repair Northern Parkway in Baltimore is budgeted at just over $7.5 million. Pavement is being redone, sidewalks rebuilt, signage revamped. And none of this would happen without cash from Washington.
