plans for a new walmart super center are riling up some people on albuquerque’s minute thumbnail 06:32 pm west-side. but others say the store would be good for the economy ... jeremy jojola is live at coors and montano with a look at the project. this would be store number 16 in the albuquerque metro area ...if it goes through .. another super-center at this southeast corner of coors and montano.. for now, walmart hasn't officially applied for a permit ...but it's seriously eyeballing this location.. the city is already planning a huge public meeting about the possible walmart... nearly 500 people have requested to be part of that meeting in the few weeks... so many people.. it could be at the convention center... some folks say it's just a bad business that will bring more unwanted traffic. others say this is good for the economy. s "i think that's a great idea for the community....more jobs. more walmarts. you know...low price." minute thumbnail 06:33 pm "i say forget walmart, and let's a have a whole foods and something this neighborhood really needs. but we got a walmart down at coors and i-40, we got a walmart just right up at the coors by-pass, we don't need another wall mart." by law..the city will allow walmart to go through the application process and have a public meeting... but the city is not taking a position on the store just yet ... tom? bosque school sits right next door to where the wal mart could be built...what are they saying? for now..the school isn't taking a position on the project yet... a spokesperson told me it's a spokesperson told me it's gather more information about the project... but it's sending letters out to parents letting them know about the project.
