"Biomarkers for Early Detection of Ovarian Cancer". Early detection of ovarian cancer is a high priority because late detection is associated with poor survival.  Scientists have been working for a decade to develop blood tests that will signal cancer in its earliest stage. Dr. Nicole Urban of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center describes recent efforts to validate the most promising markers identified through genomics and proteomics, and describes strategies for early detection that use the best markers identified to date.
