Al Franken announces he is running for Senate
On February 14, 2007, Franken announced that he will run for the United States Senate seat from Minnesota currently held by the Republican Norm Coleman. Alan Stuart "Al" Franken (born May 21, 1951) is an Emmy Awardâwinning American comedian, actor, author, screenwriter, political commentator, and radio host. He is noted for his work on Saturday Night Live and his liberal socio-political views.
