But officials at the Chengdu city zoo in Sichuan aren’t taking any chances. They've staged an escaped animal exercise aimed at preparing for any feline threats. One has to wonder if the zoo's most fearsome residents were impressed with their imitators: Humans in not-quite-so-fearsome tiger costumes, simulating their escape and prowling around the premises. The predators evaded security, and interacted with some puzzled zoo-goers, though the naturally solitary "animals" seemed a bit perturbed by the crowds. After a chase, the tigers were eventually subdued. The simulation ended with one tranquilized and one, sadly, shot "dead." The comatose cat was then taken back to his section of the zoo—it's unclear whether his role models approved of the performance.
