菅首相は、2次補正の編成方針について野党のみならず与党からも批判が出ていることについて、14日午後6時現在、首相官邸で枝野官房長官と民主党の岡田幹事長、輿石参議院議員会長が集まり、今後の対応について協議を行っているという。菅首相自身は、2次補正の編成についても大きな意欲を見せている。
