白神山地の麓を流れる米代川の流域にある小さな集落「富根」に伝わる民俗芸能の「番楽」。秋田県には番楽という民俗芸能がありますが、これは北東北に分布する修験者が伝えたといわれる芸能です。富根の番楽は現在「富根報徳番楽」とよばれています。県内には番楽を伝承する多くの集落がありましたが、時代の流れ、価値観の多様化、過疎化等により番楽を伝える集落は少なくなってきています。
