Scrums Liberal House leader David McGuinty, New Democrat MP Pat Martin, and Bloc Québécois House leader Pierre Paquette spoke to reporters about the RCMP’s lobbying investigation into a $9-million Parliament Hill renovation contract and the NDP’s private member’s bill to modify the long-gun registry McGuinty and Paquette also commented on the security breach that was made by Pierre Poilievre, the Prime Minister’s parliamentary secretary. Poilievre allegedly became impatient while waiting for security on October 5, pushed a button to lift a security gate without permission and drove his car onto Parliament Hill.  The Conservative MP has apologized for the incident. New Democrat MP Joe Comartin responded to questions about Poilievre‘s behaviour and also commented on the latest job numbers in Canada and the Nobel Peace Prize that was awarded today to imprisoned dissident Liu Xiaobo.
