Traffic Matrix Inference and Anomaly Detection in Large IP Networks
Albert Greenberg of Microsoft describes progress in IP network traffic matrix inference, arguably one of the most important technical problems in the engineering and management of large-scale IP networks. Greenberg discusses tomo-gravity (how to compute accurate traffic matrices for large ISPs in seconds), and anomography (how to accurately detect anomalies, at network-level, for large ISPs in seconds). The methods rely only on ubiquitously available link load and configuration data. From the Series:CSE Colloquia - 2007
