Slam poetry art taking France by storm
The spoken word performance art is taking France by storm. Events across the country are encouraging people to express themselves in this unique way. Laurent Etienne, French Slam Champion 2009, Slam Tribu Collective, "Slam poetry lives in the moment. It gives you freedom of expression, that’s why it's called slam. It's like banging something. It literally comes from the expression 'to slam the door'. We make a declaration, it's an instant in time, and then it's over."
