Scrums Defence Minister Peter MacKay spoke to reporters about Stephen Harper’s announcement that Canada will send the frigate HMCS Charlottetown to Libya to help with evacuation and humanitarian efforts. Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, NDP Foreign Affairs critic Paul Dewar, Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe, and NDP Deputy leader Thomas Mulcair commented on Canada’s announcement. The opposition MPs also commented on the government’s main estimates for the coming year.  Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Josée Verner discussed Quebec City’s arena project. Media conglomerate Quebecor announced today that it will invest in the $400-million project, with managing and naming rights for 25 years.
