A different kind of love song; a VERY different kind of love song.  I wrote this a few years ago, I wanted to tackle the "Comical songs about Elvis" genre. You know, trucker gets the scoop on Life, The Universe, and everything from the El at a truck stop, along with a gut-bustingly good recipe for five-alarm chili. Songwriter Jimmy Webb on his mammoth "Suspending Disbelief" CD recorded "Elvis and Me," so I had to take a shot across the bow, too, I guess. I do love this song for what it is, and I do not regret it for what it is not, I guess. I do wish I’d done a better job at playing, recording, and mixing, but we cannot all be velvet fingered recording artists.
