Assam wetlands dying under garbage
Until six months ago, Deepor Beel was Assam’s pride. It was one of the 21 wetlands in India that was declared a protected area by UNESCO. Today, it's a wasteland of garbage and scavengers are taking over what was once a haven for rare, migratory birds.
