Space Shuttle: A Remarkable Flying Machine
This film documents the first flight of a space shuttle. Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-1) was launched on April 12, 1981, from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The footage highlights liftoff, the onboard activities of astronauts John Young and Robert Crippen, as well as the landing in Rogers Dry Lake bed at Edwards Air Force Base in California on April 14, 1981.
