Liberal Arts vs. Vocation Education
Higher education is rapidly changing as technology and today’s strong economy influence what courses are taught, how education is delivered, and even the career paths students are pursuing. Universities no longer have a monopoly on education. Liberal arts colleges now have to compete with a variety of other schools that train students for specific technical careers. Are traditional degrees losing their value? How is the corporate demand for technically trained workers affecting higher education? And is there a place for liberal arts education in a technology driven society? From the Series:Capitol Region Roundtable
