Conscience
Louisa Thomas recounts the life of her great grandfather, Norman Thomas and his three brothers during World War I. The sons of a Presbyterian minister, the Thomas brothers had conflicting views of the War, which rangedfrom Ralph Thomas' service as a captain in the Army Corps of Engineers to pacifist Norman, who like his father was a Presbyterian minister who ran as a Socialist candidate for President six times following the War. Louisa Thomas discusses her family history with Jon Meacham, executive vice president and editor of Random House at the Tenement Museum in New YorkCity.
