For his new documentary, Chris Rock traveled throughout the U.S. and all the way to India to find out exactly what constitutes ‘good hair.’ A term often used within the black community, ‘good hair’ typically describes hair that is straighter and longer than the thick, cotton-like hair that is natural to many black people. Rock says “GoodHair,” which is scheduled to hit theatres across the U.S. on October 9, was inspired by a simple question that his 5-year-old daughter, Lola, asked him one day. “Daddy, how come I don’t have good hair?”
