Scrums Opposition leaders Michael Ignatieff, Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe criticized the Conservatives for delaying the implementation of firearms marking regulations for the third time. They also criticized the timing of the government’s decision, which was announced last week, as it coincided closely to the December 6 anniversary of the Montreal massacre. Today marks 21 years since the massacre at Montreal’s École Polytechnique on Dec. 6, 1989. Ignatieff and Layton also commented on the Carole James’ resignation as leader of the B.C. NDP and on WikiLeaks’ release of key infrastructure sites in Canada.
