20 years on, how have people’s views changed about the 1989 Beijing pro-democracy movement and the subsequent crackdown. We look at how the June 4 crackdown is remembered by those who lived through it, and how it's viewed by young people who were too young at the time or not even born yet. Hong Kong University students recently conducted a poll. The majority of ballots supported a vindication of the pro-democracy movement and the withdrawal of an official condemnation of it being counterevolutionary. The students also called for the impeachment of Ayo Chan, president of HKU student union. Over his remarks about June 4. We scrutinies Ayo's case and how it reflects current sentiments. We also look at how June 4 is being taught in some secondary schools. And why some people think the June 4 crackdown was necessary to achieving economic stability in China.
