June 7: South Africa aims for infrastructure boost
All-seater stadia, a new airport and a state-of-the-art railway line - more than $5bn has been poured into infrastructure projects as South Africa prepares to host the 2010 World Cup. As Richard Lapper, the FT’s South Africa bureau chief explains, most view this as an investment in the country's future. Those on the margins, however, are less convinced.
