2000 Post Election Review
The recent election was not only the most costly and hotly contested in American history, but is one that is certain to have far reaching effects. The Wednesday after the election, a number of congressional races, as well as the presidential contest, were still undecided. This election determines not just the next president, but the majority party in congress and its congressional leadership. Will this election cause a reassessment of the Electoral College? Is congress headed toward constant gridlock? And does this close election highlight the strength, or a weakness, of our democratic system? From the Series:Capitol Region Roundtable
