Hello, I’m Senator Jeff Sessions, and I am a Republican incumbent running for re-election next November. As a member of the Senate, I've drawn on my experience to work to strengthen our nation's economy and helped our nation's children succeed in school. I've been termed a "budget hawk" by the Alabama press, a nickname I'm proud of and I have led the fight to confirm federal judges who do not legislate from the bench. I've been a strong advocate for our nation's men and women serving our country and I authored the Honoring Every Requirement of Exemplary Service (HEROES) Act, which was signed into law in May 2005. The bill increased the payment received by the families of fallen combat soldiers and also increased the maximum servicemen's group life insurance benefit. I've had the privilege of fighting hard each and every day for Alabama, for the average middle-class worker, and I want to continue that fight.
