東電、塩原発電所を緊急稼動
東京電力は２２日、電力需給が窮迫する恐れがあるとして「随時調整契約」を結んでいる２３件の顧客に対し、午後の電気使用を控えるよう要請。また、緊急時だけ使用が認められている栃木県の塩原発電所（揚水式水力）も午後１時過ぎに稼働させた。東電の２２日の最大電力（電力需要）は６１４７万キロワットで、２日連続で今夏の最高記録を更新した。
