Complete coverage of the 2008 essence music fest
With various music festivities and empowerment seminars coming to an end on Sunday afternoon, the '2008 Essence Music Festival' left New Orleans with a bang! Sunday night’s show was filled with everything from charismatic singer Morris Day gracing the stage with his 'Jungle Love' to Frankie Beverly and Maze bringing the 'Joy' to their closing performance. If that didn't spark your interest, Chris Rock was guaranteed to having you laughing out loud. In between Chris's clever and witty jokes, R&B singers Keyshia Cole and Mary J. Blige brought the real party to the Louisiana Superdome. I for one am sorry I missed it, I usually go to New Orleans for the Essence Festival, and missed going the year it was in Houston due to the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Bye bye, bread pudding, bye bye, shrimp ettoufe, so long crab cakes and po boy's. I will be back, I promise.
