The co-chairmen of the president’s commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico testified before the House Natural Resources Committee. The Commission's final report, released earlier in the month, called for sweeping changes in oil and gas industry operations and government regulation. The report faulted BP, Transocean, and Halliburton for the part in the worst oil spill in U.S. history, which killed 11 people, but also said these problems were systemic in the entire oil industry.
