The Hot Seat: Nada Surf
Brooklyn’s Nada Surf first broke through with their huge 1996 hit, ‘Popular.’ Since then, the trio has surmounted major-label drama by going independent with a series of critically and commercially successful releases. Drummer Ira Elliott took time out from touring behind the band’s new album, The Weight Is a Gift to talk to mtvU’s Hot Seat about punk-rock jerks, his favorite city and why reading is fundamental.
