Im Alter von 62 Jahren starb der bekannte Tierpfleger an Herzversagen. Opitz arbeitete 20 Jahre als Chef-Pfleger im Menschenaffenhaus des Berliner Zoos. Viele junge Affen zog er in seiner Wohnung mit der Flasche auf.
