SYRIA: Assad sacks governor in wake of mass protests
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has sacked the governor of Hama in the wake of nationwide protests in which activists say at least 24 people were killed. Hama was the site of a deadly crackdown ordered by Assad’s late father in 1982.
