World Music: Napra, "Little House"
(Hungary) No, it’s not the National Agricultural Pesticide Risk Analysis, or the North American Pocketbike Racing Association. It's not an acronym at all, it's Napra, a terrific folk fusion band from Hungary. In the band's video, "Little House" we are fairly bombarded with great images, great music and great musicianship. Kálmán Balogh, one of Hungary's best cimbalom players is on board, but it is Miklós Both who steals much of the show with his guitar acrobatics, blending the odd meters of Hungarian dance tunes with the full pallette of electronic possibilities. This is an evolution of tanchaz that feels just right.Check out Napra on MySpace.
