New KU study decodes the birds-eye view
This winter, as snow blankets the ground, birdwatchers will delight as vivid blue jays and fiery-red cardinals hop from frosty limb to limb, their familiar colors flashing against a white backdrop. What humans can't observe, however, is that birds see one another in a completely different light—ultraviolet light, to be exact.
