This was the scene on our last night in Hanoi. The Vietnamese had just won a soccer game in the 22nd SEA Games, which were being held in Vietnam. The streets are usually just as crowded, but without all the flags. We thought it was very appropriate for our last night, as it exemplified one of the character traits we have come to associate strongly with Vietnamese - pride. We have since learned that they lost the championship game to Thailand, the 6 year title holder. Boo.
