Poker Tips for Beginners Covering Tournament Preparation
If you are playing at a Poker Room establishment in a Tournament for the first time I recommend arriving about a half an hour prior to the start of it. Immediately purchase your tournament seat and ask for a tournament structure sheet. There you will find the amount of starting chips, round minutes and blind increases. Structure sheets include information on Tournament breaks. Breaks usually consist of 10-15 minutes. If you are allowed to purchase additional chips during play the re buys and add ons available to you during the tournament is also found on the tournament structure sheet. And of course you will find the all important payout structure. The Top 10% will earn money payouts in most tournaments. For example if 150 players enter a tournament players who finish in 15th place or better will earn part of the prize pool. Prize pool structure percentages are available on the tournament structure sheet. Usually 1st place will earn 40% of the prize pool, second place 20% with the remainder divided to the remaining payout spots based on placement. Tournament rules are printed at the bottom of the tournament structure sheet.....
