The Kalb-Hu god goes on a rampage, then eats Pronimo, the spirit Hugh took from Rebecca (which Hugh knew it would do), and the two combine into the perfected form of Pronimo. Now Hugh has his first key spirit. Zed challenges Hugh, using his own spirit, Amir Gaul. Meanwhile, the Tuskan woman, Despara, convulses violently when she sees Roya. Rebecca sacrifices herself for one of the villagers and dies in peace, no longer vengeful.   …
