Atlanta Braves 2011 Preview: Freeman, Heyward and Minor
The Atlanta Braves begin a new era without Bobby Cox leading the charge. Bloomberg Television’s Michele Steele chats with Bloomberg Sports Analyst Rob Shaw about the Braves in 2011. Shaw tells us to keep an eye on Freddie Freeman, the rookie first baseman who could win the National League Rookie of the Year. Shaw also tells us that Jason Heyward can take the next step towards super stardom: 30 home runs, 15+ steals, and a .280+ average. Amongst the impressive rotation, Shaw points to Mike Minor who returns for his second year of Major League service. The former Vanderbilt Commodore can change speeds and make batters miss. Finally, in the bullpen, Shaw points to George Sherrill as the hidden gem since the middle relief innings are as important as the final innings.
