奧巴馬提名克拉珀出任新國家情報總監
美國總統奧巴馬提名退役空軍將領、國防部副部長克拉珀為新任國家情報總監，接替辭職的布萊爾。 奧巴馬說，克拉珀在情報部門任職數年，經驗豐富，完全有資格出任國家情報總監。他同時表示，考慮到國家情報總監之職的重要性以及美國面臨的國家安全威脅，參議院應盡快通過提名。 69歲的克拉珀，曾在美國空軍服役32年，1995年退役，現任國防部負責情報事務的副部長。 前任國家情報總監布萊爾上月辭職，被指要為連串情報失誤負責。
