Lebanon Druze chief meets Syria’s Assad to mend ties
Lebanon’s influential Druze leader Walid Jumblatt on Wednesday held a reconciliation meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, on a fence-mending mission to Damascus. Jumblatt had repeatedly stated his desire to open a new page with Damascus in recent months, with Hezbollah playing a mediating role in the rapprochement. Jumblatt had previously blamed Syria for the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri in 2005 and of his father, Druze Kamal Jumblatt, in 1977. Duration: 00:19
