Newsreel Footage (1963)
Although there isn’t any audio with this clip it is an interesting look at news footage from 1963 which highlights Deliveries at Da Nang International Airport from Operation Lifeline, Tulia, Texas. The Profumo Affair principles, including Christine Keeler and Mandy Rice-Davies. (Two high class 'Escort Wimmin' of the day - one of whom was sleeping with both John Profumo a War Minister .. y More..es, we still had one then and, with a Russian Top military chap who turned out to be a spy! needless to say the government toppled amid much muck raking and salicious details which kept the nation enthralled for months on end and caused many a young man of the day to suffer from wrist injuries). Profumo himself resigned after apologising to The House and spent the next 40 years doing 'good-works' amongst the poor and disposessed of East London. At the Old Bailey Trial Mandy Rice-Davies was told by a prosecuting councel that a certain Lord had accused her of lying to which she replied 'well, he would say that wouldn't he' .. the comment caused uproar and mayhem and has since entered into the English lexicon of putdowns of all putdowns! The Lord wasn't heard from again, she walked, a fascinating affair for those so minded .. Protests/Riots in South East Asia. (The date is in concordance with the Buddhist monk protests in Vietnam). Civil Rights Protests and Police Violence in Alabama at the time of the integration of University of Alabama. Even though theres no sound the underlying menace and intimidation is quite evident in the actions and demeanour of the NG and the police.
