アメリカ・テキサス州の地元紙が取り上げた正体不明の動物に、謎が深まっている。テキサス州の地元紙で一面に取り上げられた、ある動物の写真。写真を掲載した新聞は、1990年代半ばに家畜の血液を吸う未確認動物として話題となった「チュパカブラ」ではないかと指摘している。東武動物公園飼育課の下 康浩課長に写真を見てもらったところ、「一番近いのは、やせたウシ科の仲間かなという感じは、少しするんですけど、吸う動物には見えない」と話し、正体はわからずじまいだった。
