In Search of Shangri-La
Shangri-La - a Tibetan word meaning "Land of Sacredness and Peace." Where is Shangri-La? Was it real? Did it exist? Buddy Hatton follows the path of James Hilton’s inspiration of his novel Lost Horizon. The journey for the search includes: Hong Kong with its national pastime of eating and shopping; Guilin, famous for the world's most mystic mountain ranges; Lijiang, and ancient city that's an UNESCO Woirld Heritage Site; Kunming, known for its 270 million year old Stone Forest; and Zhongdian, the newly renamed city of Shrangri-La where Buddhists and trekkers make pilgrimages to the monastery modeled after the one in Lhasa, Tibet.
