Years of Neglect Leave Prisons in Southern Sudan in Need
Southern Sudan expects to become Africa’s newest nation after the results of this month's independence referendum are officially released in February. Building the new nation will not be easy. Years of neglect and civil war under the government in Khartoum virtually destroyed the region's infrastructure and social services. Among the many areas in need is penal reform. VOA's Scott Bobb reports.
